Even if you haven't read the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, please read this fanfic?

I totally understand why you reflexively defend your fanfic as "long and probably horrible" just by the stereotypical fanfic, but it doesn't seem that way to me. In fact, it seems fine, like an excerpt from an actual book. You do a good job making me envision the scene, but you haven't shown me the insides of the characters' thoughts, or their internal motives and frustrations. I like the whole juxtaposition of actual vampires with Halloween, though.
