Venues...reception halls..cutting cost (small rant)?
Hi, we're doing the same. In Ireland however but still. Found out that a lot of hotels etc charge you for the room capacity, regardless of how many are actually there. So, we found a local leisure club and we've hired the reception room. It is fantastic. The room holds 180 people. We want to have maybe 50 to dinner and the ceremony, immediate family and people involved in the wedding and then a big evening reception. It's great because the food etc is being done in house, but they gave the best quote. The room has drapes and hangings that cover the walls so can match my colour scheme, the room can be divided up so doesn't look empty during the dinner and then opens out for the reception. I'm so happy we are doing it this way, much more control and lot less stress.
