Do I need to go to school to become a pastry chef?
You don't HAVE to, however, if you ever decided to look for jobs in restaurants, they would prefer a trained chef.

Help with decorating room?
Perhaps you could add an accent wall of a brighter color to set the scheme? I'll suggest a yellow or blue. Then you can incorporate those colors and a few more into the room in the form of throw pillows, sheets, and comforters. Depending on what kind of furniture you have and what wall it's going on, you could paint them with the accent color too.

I'm in cosmetology school and me and my teacher are doing a presentation to our principal because it's actually an all around tech school that berets should be aloud to be worn because it's not really a hat, its like a hair assesory. And there's other professions that wear hats I there career. Such as cooking class wears chefs hat. It the 70s nurses used to wear little white hats. Do you think that hats should be aloud to be worn in a professional environment if worn correctly? It can dress up any bad hair day! I've seen chefs in tv programs setting the food on fire. How do they do that. At first i thought that they use alcohol but later on i saw chefs who were able to do it without using alcohol too. How do they do it?
Am I starting new tank syndrome all over again?
:( Sorry but yes the cycle did restart most likely, you removed the source of ammonia, the stuff the bacteria feeds on. Although it is possible there is still some beneficial bacteria, to feed it put in a small amount of fish food every 12-24 hours. Try this and test your water to see if ammonia has been converted to nitrite or nitrate, if you find any traces of nitrite or nitrate the cycle has started where it left off. Don't wash off decor unless it's an emergency as decor is a home for bacteria too. Because of all the water changes you may have eliminated to ammonia which ended up starving the bacteria. 90% chance you restarted the cycle, you'll need to test the water to make sure. Okay, for your stocking, corys need to have a partner, 3 corys is better though, 6 is best. A rubber lip is good but that gets big for a 20 gallon, 8 inches and messy. You can get a bristle nose pleco though. African cichlids could be in there but you need to have them by themselves and get Electric yellow or kribensis. Google these fish to see if you like them. Mollys would be good with corys, dwarf gouramis, corys and a bristle nose. Hope this helps!

HELP, what's wrong with my dog?
he's constantly throwing uo every 10 minutes... at frist in my room he started making noises so i out him in the kitchen (linoleum flooring is why) and it was a tennisball green but diluted to a yellow.so it was a bright yellow. then about an hour later it picked up and he started every 10 minutes. he's a weird dog... his last tennis ball he ate the fuzz off of and we didn't catch him, and he eats string in his rope. sometimes he gets stuff hes not supposed to get to get our attention for some reason. but when we put him in the kitchen, he sits at the gate and doesn't throw up. is it that hes sick or is he doing it for attention?
Is the unopened half gallon of lactose free milk bad?
i left an UNOPENED half gallon of lactaid lactose free milk on my kitchen counter for 20 hours. the room is about 60 degrees due to it being an old house and so cold out. the counter tops are granite and hold cold pretty well. i havent opened the container due to still having milk left, but im curious if i should go get another or not. i guess as long as it smells and a small taste is good i should be fine. right?

Complain to the landlord and demand that these things be repaired IMMEDIATELY! If not, let him know that YOU will get the repairs done and take it off your rent for the next month! It's ridiculous that he blamed you for having boxes. That's a dumb excuse because he doesn't want to be accountable and make the repairs. Sounds like he's a slumlord. Again, if he doesn't do the repairs within 2 weeks (AT THE MOST), get them done, get receipts and take it all off the rent.

Just learned an awesome tip today for all you Disney fans out there! Did you know that when you dine at one of the Disney resturants, you can ask your waiter for the recipe? You can! Many of the standards are already pre-printed on cards to hand out whenever someone requests them - but you MUST ASK for it. If you ask for a recipe that is not immediately handy, they take your email or mailing address and the chef will get it to you. My mother in-law has gotten many recipes from them this way! Oh the possibilities!!

There is no parental philosophy in their actions, but people can't really judge the actions of other parents. I think that if you choose not to eat lunch you don't have to, and that is all your choice. I believe that while parents are a very important part of your life they don't have the right to make all of your choices. I never eat lunch in school because I don't like lunch and I have been doing it for 5 years and my parents have never punished me for not eating.
What is the best way to mount a framed chalkboard flush to a wall?
I have a framed chalkboard I want mounted to my kitchen wall. The chalkboard arrived today with two small screws and two looped attachments (for it to presumably hang on the wall). What pastry school do you recommend?
I personally go to the Art Institute of Philadelphia. I looked at a few schools and this fit me perfectly. It has a Baking and Pastry certificate program. I did not want to do any "extra" culinary classes that I did not need (i.e. knife skills). I also did not want to do "traditional" college classes like math and English - I just wanted to learn baking and dessert making techniques. This program fit really well for me. I think the total cost was about $17K.

K, so i work with this girl at a restaurant - she's my supervisor. The one day after work i had to sign this piece of paper and she as i leaned over the desk to sign the paper i notice she was staring at my face...after this incident she was always finding reasons to touch me. Great answers... Simply leaving your faucets dripping will prevent them from freezing. Be sure and leave the hot and cold dripping, because the hot side will actually freeze faster than the cold side.

The only difference is the brand. Not "decor." AMD uses multiple vendors to sell their cards through. Sapphire, XFX, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc. And each vendor uses their own logo / sticker. They're the same card underneath the stickers. That's why they're priced around the same. But XFX has a lifetime warranty on all their cards, and Sapphire's warranty is good too, as well as customer support. I would go with XFX though, for warranty reasons.

None of the above. How about some plain old American food made with plain old American ingredients in the plain old American way? I tested this menu out on my "over 60" crowd and basically most have never heard of satay, croute, sanikopitas, or ponzu. Half had no idea what bruschetta is. All but one said "yuck" about goat cheese, and excepting the southerners said "ewwww" to green tomatoes. Sorry to rain on the parade, but I assume you want honesty.

Why is my skin so shiny ?
so ive had normal skin for most of my life ive had hardly any spots and my skins been really good but now im 17 my face has suddenly become so shiny its a joke. on my for head between my eyebrows also on my nose and at the sides of my nose and on my chin. i put my foundation on and i even wash my face with lots of soap to dry it out, but as soon as i get to college i am so shiny and my tzone is quite greasy its horrible. i don't know what to do? i don't even eat bad foods at all my mums a chef and she cooks me wholesome good foods. what can i do to stop it.

try boiling your gravel to clean it properly this does work and any imperfections come out also get another fish goldfish hate to be alone they are not solitary animals this is why so many people lose fish because they get lonely. maybe you have done something to upset the balance of the tank do you treat the water for lime and so on , when i do a water change i only have goldfish and i just use normal tapwater without any additives, one of my fish is 15 years old, so don't add anything to the tank just set it up as you normally have but leave the tank and the filter running empty just water this will take anything abnormal out of the water leave for about 1 hour.

My husbands mom tried to bribe me to get him to move closer to home, should I tell my husband?
We were visiting my husbands family in Auckland. It is no secret that she does not like the fact that my husband lives in America with me and our four sons. We have been married 10 years and all she ever complains about is how far away he lives even though we visit her twice a year. She called me into the kitchen the day before we left and she stated in these exact words, " I know your american and your probably obsessed with your country. But we have money saved up that we can give you if you can convince your husband to move closer to us," This is horrible, I cannot believe she would say any of what she said. Should I tell my husband or refuse her and tell her that was wrong. To be honest my husband is already considering taking a job there, but he hasn't told them yet.
Shall I stay or shall I finally go?
My wife has been unhappy (she claims) for a year and a half which has affected her intimacy, affection, respect, love towards me. We had sex a few times only throughout 2010.Every time she says she is unhappy it to do with her decor company which she works from home. To be honest I pay all the household bills, so whether her business is doing well or not isn’t major as this doesn’t pay the bills. To be honest the business is doing fine, and I help her on my weekends off, as I have a full time job. Her business would actually do better if she didn’t go out for alot of the day almost everyday and leaving the business phone at home. Also I brought her a small dog at Christmas 2009 and since then things have been even worse, all the attention goes on the dog and not me.I am extremely nice to her, loyal, and would do anything for her. But the way she has been has slowly been eating away at my happiness and love for her.I don’t bring up our issues often as she is a bad communicator. I have gained nothing from these serious conversations, for instance a month ago she said fine we will have sex that nite, when the evening came and we were in bed, I kissed her and she pushed me away and yet again said she not in the mood then went to sleep.The only thing that is really keeping me there is that I Iove her, we do get along sometimes and I find her attractive but that’s about it. I can write down a list of dislikes. lastnite had a serious conversation which she reluctantly agreed to. She got uneasy, frustrated etc. She said yes we will improve this and that, with no plan of action, soagreeing for the sake of it to more sex, more affection etc. Plus there’s still no explanation as to why she has changed still!, I still don’t buy the fact that the business has stressed her out this much. I said if our relationship carries on like this then I will consider leaving because if been taking this for 2 long, she then said calmly, if your unhappy and you want to leave then leave...

Should I end things with my fiance?
I think that you should end things with your fiance and find another match. He is not honest and honesty is so huge in marriage. Additionally, while of course a "second wife" is entitled to the excitement and fun, she is going to miss out on some things because she is not the first. But the main thing is that he has too much baggage and is not willing to be upfront. The citizenship issue is also a red flag. There are too many reasons to move on and find someone else; I think you should let this guy go.
Clogged drains? can't fix them?
This is an odd question but how the heck do you unclog a drain? I live in an apartment and the drains are small. My shower drain is already so bad that the tub is half full of water when I am done showering. My kitchen sink is starting to get bad too although I never dump anything down it. I tried taking a hanger to get the hair out but it's not working. I feel like it's embarrassing and a huge hassle trying to call the rental company. Not to mention it took them a month to fix my broken heat in the middle of the winter. Would it work if I bought a bottle of clr or something?

Why are vegetarians/vegans so arrogant?
Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth anything. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, and an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food. Who pays for church in a wedding?
Hard to say b/c a lot of couples today's society pretty much pay for their own wedding with the exception of some things and just depends on each parties financial situation. Personally I have never heard of a church charging such a fee to use a church for a wedding. I thing the groom and groom's parents should pay since he is wanting to get marry at that particular church.

My landlord broke my lease what rights do i have?
when we first moved in we started noticing problems right away. the furnace they told me worked didn't work and it turned out that they knew the whole time. it took about 5 phone calls over a period of 2 weeks to get the problem resolved. the first time i went to put my son in the bath i turned on the water and the faucet head shot off spraying water all over and then when i turned it off it leaked water all over the kitchen area. those problems were resolved and i was somewhat understanding about the situation. now 3 months later in the middle of winter our furnace stopped heating the back two rooms of the apartment and we have water leaking in the back two windows. they sent somebody out who did nothing other than agree with me that these two things were wrong and then left. 2 weeks went by and i didnt even receive a phone call to tell me what they were doing. right at that 2 week mark our water shut off and has not been worked on 2 days have gone by and the only thing they have done is drop an electric heater off and told me to pull my stove out and heat the pipes coming into the house. i have been patient and understanding but the way they have handled this water situation has pushed me over the edge. i have a 15 month old son and a newborn on the way home and this environment is not suitable for myself to live in let alone my family. i have given them plenty of time and would have even made the repairs myself by now if it didn't say i wasn't allowed to in the lease. these are just the major problems there is a list of about 25 minor problems i have noticed and just worked my way around. is there any way i can move and have my moving expenses paid for by this company? if not what am i allowed to do about this?

LuLuBell, Yes. Take the old bowl wax (wax ring) off first and throw it away. It's garbage now. You can use a scrapper to help you get it all off & out. When you reset your toilet again, you will have to put a new one on. You can tile all the way up to and around the outside diameter of the, "closet flange" that the toilet bolts too. You don't have to be really precise. Just don't tile over the metal or plastic flange that the toilet bolts to. Then, after you finish the tile work, then put in you new bowl wax on just before you go to reset the toilet. OK? Good luck!

Question about baby crib design?
I would call it a canopy, to be honest. And you're right, they don't serve a purpose other than decorative. The only thing I would say is not to have it hanging above your baby while they are sleeping in case it falls or baby pulls on it. Could be a safety or choking hazard(I know it's mesh but better safe than sorry, especially with younger babies).

Bottle Cap Craft/Decor Ideas?
Backed with cork and felt, they make really fun trivets. Use a strong glue (any of the Goop brand glues would be great -- get them at a hardware store or crafts supplies store) glue all your bottle caps together to form a square or hexagon or similar shape. Glue that to the cork and then the felt. Let it dry outside or in the garage for a couple days to let the smell wear off. Good glue usually stinks pretty badly.

I need help with my food addiction?
I'm only 13 but I'm obese 190 at 5'4 I've been dieting ever since I was 9 and I always fail I need help but I don't know what to do I cry every night because my stomach hurts if I didn't like exercising i would be 300 pounds I always get this feeling to eat bad food so I go to my kitchen and eat, eat,eat.... If I ran a non-profit food shelf/soup kitchen, how would I pay my bills?
Do I get any money, or would I need a second job to help pay my bills? I really want to make a soup kitchen to help others and feed the needy, but I just want to make sure I can put food on my own table and have a home to live in. yes you have damp ...but if its dry below then its not rising ..more penetrating ..what causes a lot of damp is the way the used to fix the skirting boards ..by all means remove the skirting's and chop off plaster so its an inch above the floor ...but often they would put wooden pads into wall to fix skirting's ..these would be in cross joints ..they all so used cut nails ..square nails ..these gave a great grip but rusted easy and then became a moisture carrier ...and if its a terraced house it could easily be damp from next door ..if on outside walls check pointing

I have a 35gal tank that was used for fishes but i want to turn it to a dragon habitat. I know i need bulbs food decor and all that stuff. But i have one problem. The fish tank i have right now has two pretty big rectangular holes on top where the lighting for the fish tank could fit. usually that ive seen most terrarium have a open top with a screen that opens and closes. I probably have the same Kenmore you do, grad gift in 1975. I got a new Janome a few years ago, and still miss some things about my old machine (which I still have) such as the straight stitch foot and how well it goes over lumps. On the other hand, the new one can do a lot of cool stuff, like monograms, has a rolled hem foot, a 1/4 inch quilting foot, and is so easy to wind the bobbin. I like how easy it is to change the zigzag width and length and easily adjust stitches on the new one. I needed a new one because my old Kenmore began to have stitch-length problems and could no longer do a long stitch for gathering; it just couldn't be repaired any more. The new ones are fun, but do some serious test-driving first.

Alright so i've been sick the last few days, just cough and cold, nothing special. I get off of the couch to grab water in my kitchen and i guess i got up to fast? Please get her to the vet for spaying... before she gets out and gets pregnant and more unwanted kittens to suffer... she was starving outside. without a doubt.. and survived by grabbing garbage if she could find it... also many folks throw their stale or extra bread outside for the birds.. a starving cat will eat the bread as the birds will attract her , she may bring down a bird or not but will definitely eat the bread to survive... Once she has food down that she can nibble on at will, and is fed regularly and learns there will be enough and more.. she should calm down on the stealing. She may always like bread if she survived by finding it outdoors... u can give her a little as a treat, lke maybe 1/4 to 1/2 slice as a treat now and then.. it does not have all the nutrition she needs on a regular basis... with the loose motions that is another thing.. she needs a vet to do a stool culture to make sure she does not have worms or another parasite ,,, it is easily treated... Milk can make some cats loose too... Go on line and look for low cost spay and neuter programs in ur area... but even if u have to pay full price it is the best investment u will ever make .. she can live to 20 years or more as a spayed indoor cat and be very happy with cat toys and a window to look out of with a chair or cat tree in front of it... My dad keeps on touching my bum. What shall I do?
I didn't see my dad for 15 years when I was growing up, but when I was 19 I decided to get in touch with him. I am now 25 and although my dad is really lovely, he keeps on putting his hand on my bum. I have said in the past "please don't put your hand there" or I make it quite obvoius by moving away. The other day I was standing in his kitchen and he slid his hand down to my bum and I gave him a really hard "playful" kick when he did it. I feel that because I did not grow up with him, physical barriers had to be broken (like even giving a cuddle) and bum touching, even if it is just affectionate, is way off the radar. Am I just being really uptight? Or is that completely innapropriate? I can never tell if it's affectionate contact or he's just being a complete pervert. What do you think?

Most likely, the wall was not prepped properly for the new paint; you may have used a water based paint over an oil based paint. You can try to lightly sand the edges of the area where the paint was removed, but it may be better to start fresh with a primer, then fresh paint
I keep having dreams about snakes?
It all started when I was 13 years old, The first snake dream I have ever had. I had a dream I was in my room, And I came out to go to the kitchen, My grand mother who has passed away recently to stage 4 lung cancer was in the kitchen washing plates, As I turned the corner to walk into the living room I seen a HUGE mosh of snakes all over the place you cant even see the floor it was ateast 4 inches thick of snakes all crawling around on each other slithering around. I yelled out "What the ****!?" and my grand mother replied with "Walk through them, They wont hurt you, They cant" and I woke up. My brother, My mom, My girlfriend all had dreams I was attacked by a snake and killed. 6 months after my grandmother died, I have had dreams about snakes for 2 weeks straight now, I will walk into them no matter what, No matter where I am they find me, But they dont hurt me, I can pick them up, I can touch them, And they will not attack me, I had dreams for 2 weeks bout snakes, sometimes 5 snakes at a time, to just 1 snake at a time, And none of them has attacked me when I touch them or pick them up, Even poision snakes like Cotton Mouths and water snakes. Just tonight I had a dream about a snake again, This snake was uniqe and I have never seen a snake like this before, It was light slate gray, and had black rings around it every inch or inch and a half it had a half a inch black ring around its body, It has black eyes, And a solid black mouth, It looked at me and I looked back at it, I didnt touch it because something about the snake I didnt like, It didnt seem like any other snake in my other dreams, My girlfriend appeared out of no where and came up beside me and picked up something that was beside the snake, As just reached down to pick it up the snake attacked her, She rushed back into the house frighten and scard, I looked at the snake and picked it up, And it didnt hurt me, It didnt attack me. Shall I stay or shall I go?, if I should what the best way in leaving?
My wife has been unhappy (she claims) for a year and a half which has affected her intimacy, affection, respect, love towards me. We had sex a few times only throughout 2010.Every time she says she is unhappy it to do with her decor company which she works from home. To be honest I pay all the household bills, so whether her business is doing well or not isn’t major as this doesn’t pay the bills. To be honest the business is doing fine, and I help her on my weekends off, as I have a full time job. Her business would actually do better if she didn’t go out for alot of the day almost everyday and leaving the business phone at home. Also I brought her a small dog at Christmas 2009 and since then things have been even worse, all the attention goes on the dog and not me.I am extremely nice to her, loyal, and would do anything for her. But the way she has been has slowly been eating away at my happiness and love for her.I don’t bring up our issues often as she is a bad communicator. I have gained nothing from these serious conversations, for instance a month ago she said fine we will have sex that nite, when the evening came and we were in bed, I kissed her and she pushed me away and yet again said she not in the mood then went to sleep.The only thing that is really keeping me there is that I Iove her, we do get along sometimes and I find her attractive but that’s about it. I can write down a list of dislikes. lastnite had a serious conversation which she reluctantly agreed to. She got uneasy, frustrated etc. She said yes we will improve this and that, with no plan of action, soagreeing for the sake of it to more sex, more affection etc. Plus there’s still no explanation as to why she has changed still!, I still don’t buy the fact that the business has stressed her out this much. I said if our relationship carries on like this then I will consider leaving because if been taking this for 2 long, she then said calmly, if your unhappy and you want to leave then leave...

Is a customer ALWAYS right? How should dissatisfaction be handled?
Suppose a restaurant patron orders a steak well-done. When it comes to the table, the patron is not satisfied because the steak is really rare. The meat is sent back to the kitchen. It comes back to the customer in 10 minutes apparently not cooked to any further degree. It is sent back to the kitchen again and the same thing is discovered. Again it is returned. Almost immediately the chef comes out of the kitchen and reprimands the customer saying "I'm not going to ruin good meat by over-cooking it!" The customer feels intimidated and can't understand why the cook is so confrontational, after all, he's not the one who has to eat it. The customer ends up taking the meat home to finish cooking it - which shouldn't be necessary. Who is right and how could it have been handled more effectively by either party?
Could I get into Choate Rosemary Hall?
I'm 13, in 8th grade and I'm applying to Choate. I currently have a 5.3 GPA, which translates to roughly an A. My lowest grade is a B+, but that's in Geometry and I'm pretty sure I aced a big test so that'll probably become an A-. I've swam for 6 years, field hockey for 1, tennis for 2, piano for 6, and chorus for two. I'm in National Junior Honour Society, but I'm probably gonna be kicked out for my crappy grades. I scored in the 99th percentile for the SSAT, and I'm not asking for any financial aid. I also volunteer at the library, do this story time thing for little kids, and volunteer at the soup kitchen ocasionally. My interview went quite well, if I do say so myself, and I'm pretty sure that my reccommendations will be pretty good. So do you think I have a chance. Oh and I'm chinese, if that changes anything.

Why is my sin in my t-zone so shiny?
so ive had normal skin for most of my life ive had hardly any spots and my skins been really good but now im 17 my face has suddenly become so shiny its a joke. on my for head between my eyebrows also on my nose and at the sides of my nose and on my chin. i put my foundation on and i even wash my face with lots of soap to dry it out, but as soon as i get to college i am so shiny and my tzone is quite greasy its horrible. i don't know what to do? i don't even eat bad foods at all my mums a chef and she cooks me wholesome good foods. what can i do to stop it.
