Just what the title says, at my local china buffet the sushi chef puts a yellow, thick, soft thing inside his roll, any idea what it is? It looks kind of fruitish/veggy rather than meat/fish

My sister in law has 3 cats and a dog for the last few months. I haven't been there for a while and thought she cleaned it up since getting the animals. I was there yesterday and it is disgusting. You can't even see the sink and stove. The dog is locked in a messy kitchen area for 11 hours a day and at night trapped in a corner in her room by a dresser and a baby cribs box spring thing. The dog is only 10 months old and has fearful aggression. The animals eat off of paper plates and they didn't have water. She has 2 kids and the one is 13 and loves the animals but can't stand the messy house either. I'm not sure what pennsylvania laws are concerning this and if they would take the pets away or say she needs to clean up her house. There used to be a path from room to room, but not anymore. There is mouse poop in her kitchen drawers. Its wrong, but her older child looks forward to being with the dog, she doesn't have a bond with her mother. Any ideas?

Venues...reception halls..cutting cost (small rant)?

Hi, we're doing the same. In Ireland however but still. Found out that a lot of hotels etc charge you for the room capacity, regardless of how many are actually there. So, we found a local leisure club and we've hired the reception room. It is fantastic. The room holds 180 people. We want to have maybe 50 to dinner and the ceremony, immediate family and people involved in the wedding and then a big evening reception. It's great because the food etc is being done in house, but they gave the best quote. The room has drapes and hangings that cover the walls so can match my colour scheme, the room can be divided up so doesn't look empty during the dinner and then opens out for the reception. I'm so happy we are doing it this way, much more control and lot less stress.

Well, more like cool HOUSE ideas. See, my parents and I don't really get along, so I plan to save up and move into our storage building. Don't worry, I'll insulate it and pimp it out and stuff. I'll need to put all the kitchen stuff, (stove, fridge,) bathroom stuff, and bedroom stuff into that relatively small space.,I've measured all the furniture and the building and everything, but my problem is I want to make it cool and entertaining. its not as easy as "tell them to smoke outside." i live with my mom and stepdad, rent free. i quit smoking about 6 months ago, and my step dad smokes like a chimney. its disgusting because he does it right in the kitchen and always blows it in my face. i know i dont really have a "right" to ask him to smoke elsewhere because its his house and like i said im living here rent free, but its extremely frustrating knowing that im still getting his secondhand smoke and i am still at a risk to get diseases that shouldnt be a worry for me since i quit myself. do you have any advice on what to do for this situation? it just gets worse every day and i can't stand the smoke.

Since you are 15 and not an adult yet, your best bet is to do a student exchange program, when student from different countries come to study to the US (I'm sure your still in school). Then you will get experience in living in the US, and also you will improve your English, and you will have a place to stay (probably with a family that is willing to take care of exchange students, but Im not totally sure how it works). Then you can take it from there. Finish school in the US or come here when you graduate in Greece. Then you can apply for a student VISA and go to chef school here in the US. Later you can apply for a green card. United States in definitely nice and there are a lot of places you can live at, from really big cities like New York to tropical gateway spots like Florida and California. I wish you luck! I'm looking at colleges, and I've got it narrowed down to two colleges. The Arts Institute of Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Chef's Academy. At the Arts Institute, tuition for the CULINARY MANAGEMENT Bachelor of Science degree is $92,352.00. That is one course. It includes ALL Culinary Arts courses. At the Indianapolis Chef's Academy, tuition for the CULINARY ARTS Associate of Applied Science Degree is $38,100.00, and the HOSPITALITY AND RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT Bachelor of Science degree is $56,000, for a total of $94,000.00. My biggest question is, can I get a position of Sous Chef, Head Chef, or even Executive Chef and a highly respectable restaurant with ONLY the CULINARY ARTS Associate of Applied Science Degree? Or would I have to take the Management course along with it? Or, would it be a better choice just to get the CULINARY MANAGEMENT Bachelor if Science degree at the Arts Institute? The reason I ask, my parents and I were talking about different degrees, and that an associate's degree won't do much for me. Would it in this case if I took the Arts course at the Chef's Academy?

My cat is getting what I think is leg cramps?

I am writing in regards to my cat Tony. He is a year old almost to the day. He is a very active but indoor only kitty and the other day he ran off the top of the sofa to land about five feet away right in front of me. As he landed I saw his back leg give out under him. He sat down and made a sound of pain and annoyance. This was the first time I had ever heard him make a sound like a growl. He laid down right away and I checked his leg for a breakage. He stretched it like it was cramping and was quiet and calm for the rest of the night and the past two days( it was not like him to be so quiet but I thought he was just resting his pulled muscle). His leg did not seem broken and for about two days every time he walked his leg seemed fine. Last night he did not sleep with me at the foot of my bed, something he has never ever done since the first day I brought him home. I was very concerned about his lethargy and change in behavior. Then this morning he went to jump on the bed(it is only about six inches off the ground) and as he got in the position to jump he started making the same sound and sat down very quickly. I got off the bed and went to him. He walked away from me very quickly to another room and I followed slowly. He laid down in the kitchen and stretched his leg again like it was cramping. Once again I checked for breaks and stretched out his leg he seemed a little unhappy when I touched the inside top of his leg but he did not jerk it away just growled a little. I sat next to him and pet his head to comfort him. After a few minutes he was walking again and then went to sleep sprawled out on the sofa. He still seemed like the leg was bothering him but not as bad. He was fine for about eight hours and even played with his toys for the first time in days as if nothing had ever happened. I thought he was feeling better but in the last two hours he has had two similar cramping incidents. What could be the cause of this? Has this happened to other cats before? What can I do to help him?

Well the best way to learn is to watch some videos on YouTube. I'm sure there are some how-to videos showing how to do this. However this works better if you have a lot of time. But it is a much better method (in my opinion) than typing it out phonetically, since you can actually hear the people talking on YouTube.

I keep having the same dream about one snake what does it mean?

The past nights I've been having a dream about one certain snake it is a black and white stripped California King snake in my dream it is venomous.The dream starts off like a normal day in my apartment then my fianc� brings in the snake and he tries to get me to hold it and pet it.It tries to attack my dog (Tini) and I protect him and scream at my fianc� to take the snake outside and leave it outside so he takes it outside and lets it go.Well then in my dream I lay down on my bed and I can feel it crawling up my legs so I jump out of bed and run into the kitchen but the snake is already in the kitchen so I run into the living room and sit on the couch and relax trying to wake myself up then I feel it crawling up my leg again so I kick it off and i run into the kitchen and sit on the counter against the fridge looking up the snake and it tells me on the computer that its a venomous snake.My dog come out of the bed room and tries to protect me but the snake jumps at him and bites him and my dog dies instantly.I'm screaming for my fianc� to wake up and help me but he doesn't wake up.So I grab a shovel (which for some reason was in my kitchen >_< I don't even own a shovel) Anywho.....I grab the shovel and chase after the snake trying to cut off its head and kill it. but I can't match its speed so I try to out smart it so I walk slowly to the front door and it comes at me I open the door and it follows me outside so I double back and slam the door shut (shovel still in my hands) and decide to lay back down because its outside well i lay on my bed my dog somehow comes back alive and he cuddles up with me then I feel the snake wrap around my leg and slowly crawl up I try to kick it off but for some reason it refuses to let go I lift up the covers and look at my feet and the snake bites me on my left foot and it feels like i can feel the teeth sinking into my foot and its red eyes are staring right into mine as it bites harder.Then i wake up and rip the covers off me and nothing is there.I've had these dreams for about a week now its the same dream over and over I've looked it up online but yet I've found nothing.Can anybody help me clear up this dream so I can fix the problems or at least try to so i can get a good night sleep for once?

Hey guys, normally I am pretty good in the kitchen but in a sudden rush the ither morning I tossed out my Aunt Jemima Pancake (just add water) box before making and had to totally guess the measurments for my pancake batch...unfortunately, when I guessed I got everything wrong and well lets just say not my best pancakes....does anyone have the directions that are printed on the box?.....I mean I went by instinct, 1 cup of the mix, 3/4ths cups of water, then i just add cinnamon and vanilla for taste.....but that was about it and it just didnt come together as it always does maybe I have to add oil or eggs but I want to know what the box says before I go and ruin another batch.

My wife has been unhappy (she claims) for a year and a half which has affected her intimacy, affection, respect, love towards me. How to mount a tree branch onto wall?

First find the studs in your wall. They should be either 16 or 24 inches apart, once you find one. Then drill a hole in the branch where it meets the stud. Then screw it to the wall with a Drywall screw about an 1 1/2 inches wider than the branch. Be careful there is not electrical plugs or wiring behind the wall. If not a plug on the wall under the branch chances are small there is electrical (But not Impossible). Good Luck

My dad worked for a convention center for like 5 years (it was on a native reserve) and they brought him in because he had a good reputation and hoped he would fix the problems because it was losing so much money. He turned it around and they let go people like the chef who wasn't good for the restaurant which it has and got one who knew how to make a good menu and bring people in and the council of the reserve hired a guy who stole 11,000 dollars!! I've seen chefs in tv programs setting the food on fire. How do they do that. At first i thought that they use alcohol but later on i saw chefs who were able to do it without using alcohol too. How do they do it?

:( Sorry but yes the cycle did restart most likely, you removed the source of ammonia, the stuff the bacteria feeds on. Although it is possible there is still some beneficial bacteria, to feed it put in a small amount of fish food every 12-24 hours. Try this and test your water to see if ammonia has been converted to nitrite or nitrate, if you find any traces of nitrite or nitrate the cycle has started where it left off. Don't wash off decor unless it's an emergency as decor is a home for bacteria too. Because of all the water changes you may have eliminated to ammonia which ended up starving the bacteria. 90% chance you restarted the cycle, you'll need to test the water to make sure. Okay, for your stocking, corys need to have a partner, 3 corys is better though, 6 is best. A rubber lip is good but that gets big for a 20 gallon, 8 inches and messy. You can get a bristle nose pleco though. African cichlids could be in there but you need to have them by themselves and get Electric yellow or kribensis. Google these fish to see if you like them. Mollys would be good with corys, dwarf gouramis, corys and a bristle nose. Hope this helps!

Again, if he doesn't do the repairs within 2 weeks (AT THE MOST), get them done, get receipts and take it all off the rent.

I personally go to the Art Institute of Philadelphia. I looked at a few schools and this fit me perfectly. It has a Baking and Pastry certificate program. I did not want to do any "extra" culinary classes that I did not need (i.e. knife skills). I also did not want to do "traditional" college classes like math and English - I just wanted to learn baking and dessert making techniques. This program fit really well for me. I think the total cost was about $17K.

This is an odd question but how the heck do you unclog a drain? I live in an apartment and the drains are small. My shower drain is already so bad that the tub is half full of water when I am done showering. My kitchen sink is starting to get bad too although I never dump anything down it. My landlord broke my lease what rights do i have?

when we first moved in we started noticing problems right away. the furnace they told me worked didn't work and it turned out that they knew the whole time. it took about 5 phone calls over a period of 2 weeks to get the problem resolved. the first time i went to put my son in the bath i turned on the water and the faucet head shot off spraying water all over and then when i turned it off it leaked water all over the kitchen area. those problems were resolved and i was somewhat understanding about the situation. now 3 months later in the middle of winter our furnace stopped heating the back two rooms of the apartment and we have water leaking in the back two windows. they sent somebody out who did nothing other than agree with me that these two things were wrong and then left. 2 weeks went by and i didnt even receive a phone call to tell me what they were doing. right at that 2 week mark our water shut off and has not been worked on 2 days have gone by and the only thing they have done is drop an electric heater off and told me to pull my stove out and heat the pipes coming into the house. i have been patient and understanding but the way they have handled this water situation has pushed me over the edge. i have a 15 month old son and a newborn on the way home and this environment is not suitable for myself to live in let alone my family. i have given them plenty of time and would have even made the repairs myself by now if it didn't say i wasn't allowed to in the lease. these are just the major problems there is a list of about 25 minor problems i have noticed and just worked my way around. is there any way i can move and have my moving expenses paid for by this company? if not what am i allowed to do about this?

LuLuBell, Yes. Take the old bowl wax (wax ring) off first and throw it away. It's garbage now. You can use a scrapper to help you get it all off & out. When you reset your toilet again, you will have to put a new one on. You can tile all the way up to and around the outside diameter of the, "closet flange" that the toilet bolts too. You don't have to be really precise. Just don't tile over the metal or plastic flange that the toilet bolts to. Then, after you finish the tile work, then put in you new bowl wax on just before you go to reset the toilet. OK? Good luck!

I would call it a canopy, to be honest. And you're right, they don't serve a purpose other than decorative. The only thing I would say is not to have it hanging above your baby while they are sleeping in case it falls or baby pulls on it. Backed with cork and felt, they make really fun trivets. Use a strong glue (any of the Goop brand glues would be great -- get them at a hardware store or crafts supplies store) glue all your bottle caps together to form a square or hexagon or similar shape. Glue that to the cork and then the felt. Let it dry outside or in the garage for a couple days to let the smell wear off. Good glue usually stinks pretty badly.

I probably have the same Kenmore you do, grad gift in 1975. I got a new Janome a few years ago, and still miss some things about my old machine (which I still have) such as the straight stitch foot and how well it goes over lumps. On the other hand, the new one can do a lot of cool stuff, like monograms, has a rolled hem foot, a 1/4 inch quilting foot, and is so easy to wind the bobbin. I like how easy it is to change the zigzag width and length and easily adjust stitches on the new one. I needed a new one because my old Kenmore began to have stitch-length problems and could no longer do a long stitch for gathering; it just couldn't be repaired any more. The new ones are fun, but do some serious test-driving first.

Please get her to the vet for spaying... before she gets out and gets pregnant and more unwanted kittens to suffer... she was starving outside. without a doubt.. and survived by grabbing garbage if she could find it... also many folks throw their stale or extra bread outside for the birds.. a starving cat will eat the bread as the birds will attract her , she may bring down a bird or not but will definitely eat the bread to survive... Once she has food down that she can nibble on at will, and is fed regularly and learns there will be enough and more.. she should calm down on the stealing. She may always like bread if she survived by finding it outdoors... u can give her a little as a treat, lke maybe 1/4 to 1/2 slice as a treat now and then.. it does not have all the nutrition she needs on a regular basis... with the loose motions that is another thing.. she needs a vet to do a stool culture to make sure she does not have worms or another parasite ,,, it is easily treated... Milk can make some cats loose too... Go on line and look for low cost spay and neuter programs in ur area... but even if u have to pay full price it is the best investment u will ever make .. she can live to 20 years or more as a spayed indoor cat and be very happy with cat toys and a window to look out of with a chair or cat tree in front of it... Unspayed she wlll yowl and escape and get preggers with more unwanted baby kittens... given away free like garbage for people to neglect, abuse or worse... good luck and God bless you for being her kitty Earth angel and saving her life.. my best wishes to yu both.. My dad keeps on touching my bum. What shall I do?

I didn't see my dad for 15 years when I was growing up, but when I was 19 I decided to get in touch with him. I am now 25 and although my dad is really lovely, he keeps on putting his hand on my bum. I have said in the past "please don't put your hand there" or I make it quite obvoius by moving away. The other day I was standing in his kitchen and he slid his hand down to my bum and I gave him a really hard "playful" kick when he did it. I feel that because I did not grow up with him, physical barriers had to be broken (like even giving a cuddle) and bum touching, even if it is just affectionate, is way off the radar. Am I just being really uptight? Or is that completely innapropriate? I can never tell if it's affectionate contact or he's just being a complete pervert. What do you think?

Problem with waterproof paint...help?

Most likely, the wall was not prepped properly for the new paint; you may have used a water based paint over an oil based paint. You can try to lightly sand the edges of the area where the paint was removed, but it may be better to start fresh with a primer, then fresh paint

I keep having dreams about snakes?

It all started when I was 13 years old, The first snake dream I have ever had. I had a dream I was in my room, And I came out to go to the kitchen, My grand mother who has passed away recently to stage 4 lung cancer was in the kitchen washing plates, As I turned the corner to walk into the living room I seen a HUGE mosh of snakes all over the place you cant even see the floor it was ateast 4 inches thick of snakes all crawling around on each other slithering around. I yelled out "What the ****!?" and my grand mother replied with "Walk through them, They wont hurt you, They cant" and I woke up. My brother, My mom, My girlfriend all had dreams I was attacked by a snake and killed. 6 months after my grandmother died, I have had dreams about snakes for 2 weeks straight now, I will walk into them no matter what, No matter where I am they find me, But they dont hurt me, I can pick them up, I can touch them, And they will not attack me, I had dreams for 2 weeks bout snakes, sometimes 5 snakes at a time, to just 1 snake at a time, And none of them has attacked me when I touch them or pick them up, Even poision snakes like Cotton Mouths and water snakes. Just tonight I had a dream about a snake again, This snake was uniqe and I have never seen a snake like this before, It was light slate gray, and had black rings around it every inch or inch and a half it had a half a inch black ring around its body, It has black eyes, And a solid black mouth, It looked at me and I looked back at it, I didnt touch it because something about the snake I didnt like, It didnt seem like any other snake in my other dreams, My girlfriend appeared out of no where and came up beside me and picked up something that was beside the snake, As just reached down to pick it up the snake attacked her, She rushed back into the house frighten and scard, I looked at the snake and picked it up, And it didnt hurt me, It didnt attack me. If your wonder why I picked the snake up after it attacked my GF is because I wanted it to get Anti Venom for my GF. But why am I having these dreams? What do they mean? I am christian also, My relgion believes snakes are the devil, Does this mean the devil is after me? Or is he protecting me? Or is it something else? Please respond and let me know cause this is starting to get scary, What started out as snakes not hurting me, Is now at the point to where they hurt the people I love.

Shall I stay or shall I go?, if I should what the best way in leaving?

My wife has been unhappy (she claims) for a year and a half which has affected her intimacy, affection, respect, love towards me. We had sex a few times only throughout 2010.Every time she says she is unhappy it to do with her decor company which she works from home. To be honest I pay all the household bills, so whether her business is doing well or not isn’t major as this doesn’t pay the bills. To be honest the business is doing fine, and I help her on my weekends off, as I have a full time job. Her business would actually do better if she didn’t go out for alot of the day almost everyday and leaving the business phone at home. Also I brought her a small dog at Christmas 2009 and since then things have been even worse, all the attention goes on the dog and not me.I am extremely nice to her, loyal, and would do anything for her. But the way she has been has slowly been eating away at my happiness and love for her.I don’t bring up our issues often as she is a bad communicator. I have gained nothing from these serious conversations, for instance a month ago she said fine we will have sex that nite, when the evening came and we were in bed, I kissed her and she pushed me away and yet again said she not in the mood then went to sleep.The only thing that is really keeping me there is that I Iove her, we do get along sometimes and I find her attractive but that’s about it. I can write down a list of dislikes. lastnite had a serious conversation which she reluctantly agreed to. She got uneasy, frustrated etc. She said yes we will improve this and that, with no plan of action, soagreeing for the sake of it to more sex, more affection etc.  Plus there’s still no explanation as to why she has changed still!, I still don’t buy the fact that the business has stressed her out this much. I said if our relationship carries on like this then I will consider leaving because if been taking this for 2 long, she then said calmly, if your unhappy and you want to leave then leave...

Is a customer ALWAYS right? How should dissatisfaction be handled?

Suppose a restaurant patron orders a steak well-done. When it comes to the table, the patron is not satisfied because the steak is really rare. The meat is sent back to the kitchen. It comes back to the customer in 10 minutes apparently not cooked to any further degree. It is sent back to the kitchen again and the same thing is discovered. Again it is returned. Almost immediately the chef comes out of the kitchen and reprimands the customer saying "I'm not going to ruin good meat by over-cooking it!" The customer feels intimidated and can't understand why the cook is so confrontational, after all, he's not the one who has to eat it. The customer ends up taking the meat home to finish cooking it - which shouldn't be necessary. Who is right and how could it have been handled more effectively by either party?

I'm 13, in 8th grade and I'm applying to Choate. I currently have a 5.3 GPA, which translates to roughly an A. My lowest grade is a B+, but that's in Geometry and I'm pretty sure I aced a big test so that'll probably become an A-. I've swam for 6 years, field hockey for 1, tennis for 2, piano for 6, and chorus for two. I'm in National Junior Honour Society, but I'm probably gonna be kicked out for my crappy grades. I scored in the 99th percentile for the SSAT, and I'm not asking for any financial aid. I also volunteer at the library, do this story time thing for little kids, and volunteer at the soup kitchen ocasionally. My interview went quite well, if I do say so myself, and I'm pretty sure that my reccommendations will be pretty good. So do you think I have a chance. Oh and I'm chinese, if that changes anything.

Why is my sin in my t-zone so shiny?

so ive had normal skin for most of my life ive had hardly any spots and my skins been really good but now im 17 my face has suddenly become so shiny its a joke. on my for head between my eyebrows also on my nose and at the sides of my nose and on my chin. i put my foundation on and i even wash my face with lots of soap to dry it out, but as soon as i get to college i am so shiny and my tzone is quite greasy its horrible. i don't know what to do? i don't even eat bad foods at all my mums a chef and she cooks me wholesome good foods. what can i do to stop it.
